De Prague, next to HSBC bank hamra is one of my favorite hangout places in lebanon.
Its mostly frequented by University students who want to chill out, talk and socialize.
It has a nice homy atmosphere, fire place, comfy couches, softish music, friendly waiters and waitresses. The drinks are priced fairly comparing to others, the food is pretty okay.
The nice thing about it, is that everyone comes relaxed and as they are , no fancy dressing, no typical tijguil, during the day you can take coffee and browse the internet on their wirless connection. All in all its a nice relaxing place during the day and a cool pub at night.
the only thing that I find bad are the little uncomfortable stools in the mid area I wish they can make them a bit wider just enough to rest properly. other than that everything is pretty fine :).

Well, I was kinda frustrated with the clubbing cycle in lebanon so I decided to started a nightlife blog about each club or pub I visit how good it is, what's bad etc.
so the first thing that I am gonna state is general, clubs in lebanon have typically a 1 year and 1/2 cycle from openning till closing because every one does the same mistake over and over and no body bothered to change a bit.
At first they open people discover it, the club would be nice, kinda quiet only a few hundred know about it everybody is happy. The owners start making money, and ego comes to play they put a bouncer start with the reservation thing, only if you reserve a few days in advanced or you know somebody who knows somebody can go in or of course you have a $100 bill and a new ferrari to show the bouncer. But those people usually are not heavy drinker they are more into "tijggil 3ala ba3don" they have 1 drink or 2 and stay for hours, so the owners start losing money and at the same time the usuals get bored and try to find somewhere else to hang out and show off. So the owner open up their club everybody is allowed in, the first 2 to 4 weeks it goes great usually heavy drinker go in and spend alot of money and they party all night long speding like $30 to $50 on the head, but after those initial weeks kids start to arrive (17-20) and those come in 2 categories : the sober ones that do not want to spend the $10 for a drink usually paid for in a nighclub and the already drunk ones, the ones that also do not want to spend the $10, but they already drank at home or cheaper pubs before hand. So basically the club is at the final stage then and it won't be long until it closes, someone else buys the places, changes the name, changes the decor and does the same thing again.
ummm... this is easily fixed, ENTRANCE FEE DAMN IT; $20 and you get 2 free drinks, that way everybody pays if they drink or not drink and the club doesn't enter in the typical cycle.
